Last week saw me do ten sessions back to back, finishing the week with time trials.
I've only ever done this a few times before so found it tough, as normally we would do five sessions have one off and then do another five.

Then on Thursday (session eight) out of the blue we were pulled out of the pool and told to race against e
ach other in a one off race.

I went well with the fastest time of the afternoon in 4:06.2 even after a physio session in the morning.

Several sports drinks later the weekend was here and the time trials. On Saturday evening we suited up and raced. I swam more than all the other guys in the squad put together doing a 1500.

My time of 15:44 was some 35 seconds off my time that I did at the trials but was pleased as it's just eight seconds off my best from last year and it was on the back of a really tough week.

I have been relaxing more away from the pool as my brother joined me on the gold coast as he finished his exams last week. Doing things like watching the gold coast Titans play rugby and going out fishing.

This has been a great way to blow off some steam and has allowed me to get away from the swimming world for a bit and come back with even more motivation and determination than before.

My knee is getting better by the day and with physio checkups twice a week I'm definitely on the road to recovery. Its just two weeks before I return to the UK for nationals and am just touching up small skills prior to that.

8 weeks to go and counting!
