Disadvantaged youngsters in Dacorum are to benefit from a cash windfall of more than £230,000.
The money will be used to provide a range of services including counselling and skills training.
Among the organisations to benefit are Woodfield After School Club, the Swan Youth Centre and a number of schools.
The cash has come from Herts County Council's 'Prevention 513 Fund', which seeks to reduce inequalities.
Children's services cabinet chief Jane Pitman said: "Hertfordshire is one of only a few local authorities which has continued to commission preventative services for five to 13-year-olds.
"I am delighted that we are still able to meet the needs of so many children and young people within this age range."
Broadfield Primary School will get £18,000 to provide a counsellor for half a day a week and Hobbs Hill Wood will be handed £53,000 to provide counselling and art therapy for children with serious emotional needs.
The Swan will get £12,500 while Woodfield School will receive £20,700.
Countywide the fund has handed out more than £3million to 42 different projects that support five to 13-year-olds.
