Shoppers queued to be among the first to snap up some bargains at the popular Oxfam Children's Wear Event.
The day raised £5,550 which will go towards the charity's work overseas, including paying for three new one-room schools in Africa and helping with flood relief in Haiti and Bihar.

Area manager Maria Harrison, who oversees 30 Oxfam shops in the region, attended to the event last Friday (September 12) and stayed to spend a busy morning on one of the tills.

She said: "Congratulations to Nicky Evans and the team on the brilliant success and thank you to all our donors and customers who make it possible."

There is still stock left over and the sale continues at the High Street store.
