A group working towards a better Berkhamsted will ask residents to come up with ideas to improve their home town.
Transition Town Berkhamsted held its third meeting last Tuesday (September 16) on how the town can adapt as oil supplies start to run dry and cost more.

Next the group will man a stall at the Farmers Market in High Street on Sunday, October 19 whe
n members will be giving out information.

Berkhamsted became a Transition town in June, which means it is part of a international movement focused on reducing dependence on increasingly scarce and expensive oil by opting for renewable energy sources.

On the afternoon of Sunday, November 9 the group is inviting residents to attend a meeting at the Old Town Hall in High Street to put forward their ideas.

Danny Bonnett, who is leading the initiative, said: "We will ask them for their views on how we can make the town more resilient and more sustainable."

He added: "That is the starting gun so that we can start getting projects up and running and getting groups to look at energy, transport and local food."

For more information contact Mr Bonnett on 07795 236402 or Marion Baker on 01442 874732. Visit ww.transitionberkahmsted.org.uk.
